Rosy Daze is a Rose Like No Other

Timeless RosesWouldn’t you agree roses are timeless and their fragrance can call up wonderful emotions?

Art with roses traces back through history with the first known painting of a full rose found in Knossos, Crete circa 1500 B.C. It was painted on a fresco discovered by archeologists and it included a bird sitting next to a wild rose. Throughout history, many well-known artists have graced their canvases with roses.

In our current times, we may think of a rose as a more traditional flower. Most people would not object to receiving a beautiful bouquet.

If you ask a florist, they’ll tell you on any given day they still deliver long-stemmed roses in pretty vases. The happy recipient will place them on a console, coffee, or end table to be appreciated throughout the day. What a heartfelt gift.

Accent Walls & Bolder Designs

Rosey Daze Digital PaintingWhen we think of a modern design, current home decor graphics containing lines, angles, patterns, and curves, are often intermixed. Could roses be adapted to the modern home?

Current trends call for bolder colors intermixed with a softer palette. Neutral tones of grey and tan are still popular and make a soothing backdrop. The featured accent wall has become a popular modern design device. It captures the eye and allows the neutral spaces to flow, inviting the other home decor items to tie the space together.

People who live in apartments have new options. Peel and stick designer wallpaper is a new trend (I feel it’s here to stay). Large wall murals or fabric wall hangings can offset the more typical framed wall art for renters and homeowners.

A great design is one that looks beautiful in a small size but can hold its own when blown up. It’s always exciting for an artist to finish a unique image and see their artwork applied to various home decor products.

Roses Going Beyond the Bouquet

In my latest art creation, I set out to bring the rose into the 21st century. I kept in mind lines, angles, patterns, and curves. I named this latest piece of art, Rosy Daze. I love how it modernizes the romance of the rose. The flowing lines along with the sensual and repetitive pattern mauve and pink tones of the rose’s center blend together.

It was so fun to see the Rosy Daze graphic applied to a large 12’ x 8’ wall mural as you’ll see below. I also included this modern design on many other home decor items just in case someone wanted the design on other furnishings.

Note: If you like the Rosy Daze design but would rather see it in gray tones or other hues, let me know!
